Beware of Gifts that involve lots and lots of work!

For Christmas, instead of the normal shirt or toy, my wife decided to give me a gift certificate to have a book published. I know you are saying to yourself; what a great idea! But I think she had an ulterior motive in mind. To lock me up in my office and out of her hair for a long, long time!Well after about 60 hours of work and peace for my wife, I have finished my short little photo story of the town I live in and sent it off to the publisher for printing. I never knew how much work was involved in putting a few images and a little writing together in what I hope is a cohesive manner. Here is my first try at such an endeavor wish me luck!

About Bryan Peterson

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Sounds like a great project, but it IS a LOT of work. Congrats

  • Seemed like a lot of time spent for just 40 pages but it was fun and hopefully will turn out OK.

    G’day Bryan,

Well worth all the time and effort my man! A lovely pictorial journey around your home town backed up by a very good and informative narrative.

Mine# has also recently been published but I opted for a straight pictorial approach although I now wish I had made a narrative for each photograph.

Once again, a very good job and a special pat on the back for your wife. 8-)

  • Thanks for looking at my project Dennis. I should be getting the copy in about 10 days—hopefully I won’t find any mistakes missed. I think with this project the narratives added to the book as a whole. With other subject matter it may not enhance the overall impact of the book. Thanks for looking in on me and my projects.
