One Log Load by

Logging wagon from the early 1900’s found in the Redwood forests of northern California. Back in the early 70 I worked in the woods as a logger, I remember seeing trucks fully loaded with one log. I haven’t seen that in many years now. Nikon D-300, Nikkor 18-105mm lens, iso 200, f-4 @ 1/20 sec.

About Bryan Peterson

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Great shot Bryan. I grew up in Snoqualmie and there used to be a guy who logged with two draft horses and a wagon up the Mt. Si road. I wish I had pictures other than in my head. This one totally takes me back there.

  • I remember running acrossed an operation like that down in Oregon in the 1970’s when I was working for Weyerhaeuser doing soil surveys. No camera at that time also. Glad I could spark old memories.

Fanatstic image rom the past Bryan…my Dad was a ‘timber getter’ all his working life..and I had old uncles who had Bullock teams to drag the logs…those were the days!! *-)

  • Thank you Deb, I hope my image brought back some good memories. I was lucky to work in the woods as a young man, I was abel to see some amazing sights but glad I became a firefighter—it was much easier on the body!
