Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse by

This area of north central Washington was originally part fo the Colville Indian Reservation established in 1872. With the discovery of gold and silver the area was removed from the reservation and opened up to white settlement in 1886. This schoolhouse located south west of Okanogan, Washington was built sometime in the late 18 early 1900’s for a small mining community located in Pleasant Valley. It is not open to the public but is being preserved and still has some of the original desks and school books at the location.

Single image capture using a Nikon D-300, Nikkor 18-70mm lens at 60mm, iso 200, f-10 at 1/100sec, post processed in Photoshop.

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.
