Sun Glow by Bryan Peterson

The birds are waking as the sun comes up from behind Mount Rainier to shine it’s light on Gig Harbor, Washington.

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Another beautiful image of a sunrise, Bryan.. It is always so nice to see these as I am never up early enough.. lol
I don’t go to bed till 3 AM and get up around noon..Making use of my retirement.. The birds and looks like a light house just adds to the whole image.

  • Thanks Carol, I’ll leave the nighttime shots for you in that I am just the opposite, in bed around 9 and up by 5 am. I took a number of shots and this one with the bird seemed the best to me adding a little action to the image.

This is a stunning photo. You shooting skills combined with your editing skills will get this much attention.

  • Thanks Paul, I got lucky and didn’t have to do a lot of editing on this one, a little dodging and burning to reduce some of the lens flare and some shadow and highlight adjustments and that was about it. Thanks again for the stunning comment.

Absolute beauty, Bryan…It must have been so lovely to see this up for real..fave

  • The advantages of being an early riser. It had been below freezing here for about a week which usually means stagnant air and nice evening and morning colors in the sky along with early morning steam coming off of the water. I was lucky and got all that I had hoped for on this morning. Not to mention sunrise wasn’t till 8 am so I got to sleep in!
