My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

I like the way you didn’t go overboard with the effects. My one quibble is that your lens is a little too sharp (I’d soften the image a tad). Your subject’s face is very 19th century-convincing!
Thanks Stefan, I go back and forth in regards the sharpness issue. In doing research on 1800s photography many of the images were amazingly sharp depending on the photographers skills and patients but as you note many were a little soft. The more I look at this image though I believe you are correct a little softening would be a good idea. I have printed this image (as is) on mat paper and it has turned out nicely and doesn’t seem as sharp as on the computer screen. Thanks againBryan
