My New Camera by Bryan Peterson

Currently unavailable for purchase

As I have been out photographing the Civil War with my new camera I haven’t been around to process many images. This photograph of me and my new camera was sent to me by my friend and fellow Sound Exposure Photography Club member Ed Johnson. You can see more of his images here

portrait, photographer, civil war, wandering 101 photography

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Great images on your web site. At first I thought this was your new camera. What did you get? I can’t wait to see your vast skills put to work using the new equipment.

  • Thanks Paul…not too much time to process images this time of year but having a lot of fun out with my cameras. This fall when the rains return I will get to work on the processing side.

    Great image & expression, Bryan

  • Thanks Prasad I’ll let Ed know. I have to admit that it felt somewhat strange to have people come up and ask if they could take a picture of me!

So compact too by today’s standards.
    A great shot Bryan.

  • And it only weighs about 45 pounds…my shoulders are still bruised from packing it around for the 3 days of the event. I think I’m going to quit the Union and join the Confederacy—that way I can have a slave carry around all this light camera gear!

Very cooooool!!! And you look pleased as punch!!! Super shot.

  • Thanks Wendi, it was somewhat strange to have people ask if they could take my picture but I did have a lot of fun—and some bruised shoulders from packing the beast around.

Congrats on your new gear, Bryan….
Very nice to see you’re having fun. Wonderful photograph.

  • Thanks Keld, I have a new found appreciation for the time and effort it took for photographers of the period to set up and frame the wonderful images they were able to take and I don’t even have to mess with hazardous chemicals and glass plates!

Classic shot! Congrats on the feature Bryan

  • Thank you very much Roaslie, I’ll let Ed know. Other than sore shoulders from packing the beast around I’ve been having a lot of fun with this camera at the reenactments and I’m starting to get used to people asking to take my picture.
