Female Rufous Hummingbird, Selasphorus rufus, posing for my camera. I’m going to quit while I’m ahead—this is the sharpest image taken during my shoot of these wonderful little birds at Vaughn Bay, Washington.

About Bryan Peterson

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Such a ‘dainty’ little beauty Bryan…OMG..this is just a perfect capture!! She must be getting to know you really well!! Excellent *-)

  • At the time I took this image there were about 12 birds darting around. At the speed that they fly they must think we move in slow motion and if one moves slowly you are able to get very close.
