Dancing in the streets of Port Gamble to relax from the tribulations of the battle earlier in the day. Or the reenactors just having a lot of fun!

dancing, military, reenactment, 1860s, civil war, wandering 101 photography

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

I like your business stamp on the mat. Very attractively done.

  • Thanks Ruthanne. For the mat I scanned an old family photograph from the 1800s, erased the existing label and added my own using the same coloring and the closest font I could find. I then placed the image from Port Gamble over the top of that to get the final image.

Alot of work but so worth it Bryan…this looks so good!!! *-)
  • Thanks Deb—I figured if I am going to spend the time trying to create vintage looking photographs I should do the same with the matting. We have an old family photo album with images from the early 1840’s up through the 1940’s that give me a lot of examples of the vintage styles to try an copy.
