I wonder what he would think. This is an image of my great-great grandfather, I guess you could call him one of the original members of the civil-rights movement. During our Civil War he was the Captian of Company G of the 122 US Colored Infantry, fighting along side and leading colored soldiers into battle. Because of all the people like him, before and after; history for our Nation has been made and a great step forward for what he and his men fought and died for has been accomplished. I wonder what he would think!

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

  • Thanks Deb, I did clean up a few spots and scratches and increased the contrast a little.

Wonderful image, Bryan. Almost 3D. Must have been stored under proper conditions, which is perfectly understandable.

  • Thanks Keld, there are a number of images in an old family album that is really showing its age. I’ve been in the process of digitizing the images it contains and restoring, as best I can, some of the more abused pictures. Projects like this are when we learn that we do not know enough about our family history.
