Stika Valerina Valeriana sitchensis is a subalpine wild flower growing in the mountain meadows of the Pacific Northwest. The Native peoples of this area used the roots of this herb for its sedative effects in calming one’s nerves. Image captured above Paradise Lodge, Mount Rainier National Park.

My photographs are not always technically correct, I tend to break the rules but I do that knowing what the rules are and having a reason to do so. My photographic images are what and how I see the world around me in my minds eye—they are who I am.

Most beautiful capture, Bryan. The lighting is gorgeous.

  • Thanks Keld. The lighting in the image is even natural (not photoshopped) except I coloured over a light area in the lower left corner of the image that was somewhat distracting.
