Yesterday I found out this image got honorable mention in the Gig Harbor Maritime Juried art exhibition.
There were 250 pieces of art submitted from all over western Washington with 140 pieces being accepted into the show. 95% of the art works were paintings and the jurors were all painters so I am pretty excited that a photograph even got noticed and even more excited that it was one of mine! It will be hanging in the Gig Harbor Maritime History Museum along with all the other amazing artworks through the month of June. It was a nice way to top off a nice 59th birthday day.

D!
Bryan Peterson:
Many of the painters I run across here believe that photography is not art (they all think they can take a picture) so having photography acknowledged in one or our local “ART” contests is a rare event. Thanks Dennis.
Philip Golan

So good to see your excellent work being recognized Bryan. Congratulations.
Bryan Peterson:
Thanks Paul. I have to admit it was a supprise to get acknowledged by all those painters!
Yhun Suarez
it is a great artwork which truly deserves all the exposure! …well done Bryan & belated happy birthday!!!
Bryan Peterson:
Thank you very much Yhun. I have always considered myself an artist that uses a camera as a tool to express my work just like a painter uses a brush and paint. It’s rewarding to start to see other artists looking at my work in that light.
