Riding the Light of the Full Moon by Bryan Peterson

Posted on November 23, 2010

Native American beliefs state that when one moves on to their new life in the light of a full moon that it is an indication that that person has had a good and full life and has taught us, still living in this one, all that they have to teach. Mom moved on to her new life in the light of the full moon this last Sunday night…from now on giving me a new understanding of the world around me and a new way to look at a full moon.

For the last two and a half months I have been, for the most part, absent from RB and my photography as my family and I took care of mom in preparation for moving on. I hope to be returning soon with a new understanding and perspective of my life, what is important and not important and a new view of everything around me.

We used this painting made by my sister Robin Peterson of our younger sister Stacy in our Uncle’s dahlia patch to help Mom and us move our thoughts to good places and contemplation during Mom’s time of preparation.

So sorry for your great loss Bryan. Your words will bring us all to think that we are all on this earth to teach and to learn. You have given us all a monthly reminder of how life should be lived each time we see that full moon.

  • Bryan Peterson:

My sincere condolences to you and your family, Bryan.. I know this is a hard time for you as it was for myself when I lost my father. Thank you for reminding us of how life should be lived. Your sister’s painting is excellent. Prayers from us to your family.

  • Bryan Peterson:

Thank you Carol for your thoughts and prayers, our Mom did teach us well both in hard times and in good times.

Robin is a fantastic artist and well known in our area…she has made it a little easier for me by letting me ride on her shirt tales as far as selling my artwork.
