Did You Ever Want to Know?

Did you ever want to know what it looks like under the roadway of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge? Well here it is; a view of the east tower of the old bridge from the underside of the road. Just hanging there with nothing between you and the water a couple of hundred feet below but air! Enjoy!

Hi Brian! It’s a breathtaking photography. How high is it?

  • Bryan Peterson replied

According to the bridge web site the road is 200 feet above the water and the top of the towers are 507 feet above the water.

Sensational shot, Bryan. Again, you are risking life and limb! Oh, this makes me dizzy. WOW

  • Bryan Peterson replied

You could be right Sue…the bridge and I are about the same age and I’m not in that great of shape. I guess I should have taken that into account before I started climbing all over it!

OMG…How could YOU!!! This is my worst nightmare!!lol..That water looks soooo deep and clean!!! Brave man Bryan!!*-)

  • Bryan Peterson replied

The depth of the water isn’t the problem if one were to fall Deb…no one, as of yet, has survived the sudden stop when they’ve hit the water.

Bryan, it seems like we’ve had this conversation before but are you on the basket thing under the deck?

  • Bryan Peterson replied

Yes we were riding on the gondola used to transport the bridge workers and equipment across the bridge.
