Everything in this poem is true. I hold this person in my heart every day.
Last night I watched you watch t.v
I couldn’t help but smile
Seeing the screen reflect on your glasses and into your eyes.
Eyes so blue its like staring heaven in the face
weather its laying in bed,or walking the town,
whenever I’m with you, I always feel safe.
Looking up,I run my hand down your cheek
and under your chin
I see the glow that your soft smile brings
your mine,my man,my best friend
I tell you that I love you
but before I finish speaking,my voice breaks
as if my soul realized what you really mean to me
for a moment it took my breath away.
you know,I cant look at you and stay mad forever
If I cry,you make me laugh
When I hurt,your warmth comforts me
Every day I am reminded how I am the luckiest woman on earth
How through all my heart ache,and all my sorrow
came you.
I would do it all over again
just to have our first kiss relived
My life use to be a puzzle turned to ash
But you appeared by my side,like lightning hitting metal
And your strength gave me hope
I’m grateful for who you are
If only you knew that this is what I think
that this is what I feel when I watch you,
watch t.v..
Then you couldn’t even believe what
I dream
So thank you for giving me my light
I’m no longer stuck in the dark
Because my future is with you
