Hemiandra pungens, Snake Bush by 

From a series of close-up Australian wildflower photographs, this Snake Bush was photographed at Stokes Bay Bush Garden, Kangaroo Island, South Australia in 2010.

Hemiandra pungens, Snake Bush is a member of the Lamiaceae Mint family. Growing to 30cm high, 1 metre wide. Flowers are mauve, pink or white, appearing in early spring to late summer.
