a rain slicked street
forces meet
headlights beam
sirens scream
two blocks north
a child is born
life goes forth
while someone mourns

Wow, although this is short it says a lot. I remember back in elementary school, we would used to have ceremonies on Remeberence day, and each glass would do a presentation or sing a song. From time to time there would be themes talking about how everyday someone dies while a new life is born. Sometimes in a class discussion the topic leads into wonders; for example, when someone dies and a new life is born; maybe the new life is the reincarnation of the diseased one.

this reminds me (not sure how or why), of Elvis Presley’s song – ‘The Ghetto’ when another little child is born…into poverty and his mother cries cause if there’s one thing that she don’t need is another little hugnry mouth to feed int he ghetto…that song has always got me (and i am not a huge elvis fan)...

    nice words butch…nice!

This is one of my favourite conversations.
    Balance manifests like an onion.
    ... or maybe a puzzle-fruit…
    I don’t know.
