adrift
all those ghosts
lashed to the bedposts
drowning in empathy
the chrysalis was shattered
before it could take wing
all those pretty pieces
scattered
in the haze
flesh in the silk of a spider
strung in sepia coloured days
living on tea and nightmares
toxicity was king
dancing the grand illusion
of what tomorrow would bring
camelot has ended
in the middle of it’s song
nothing was right
nobody was wrong
we are what we carry
once embraced hard to lose
bridges burned
lessons learned
take care in what you choose

I think it’s silly if anyone would want to let go of your grip. I think it’s one of the only things on this planet worth being bonded to forever.

first you lead me through the scenery.. the colours.. the feel.. wondering where they will lead me… and then these words of wisdom.. and it are exactly those words butch that show your light.. you call me the optimist.. but you just showed your long for Hope in this.. to me that last line says it all..

For me – “bridges burned
lessons learned”... that’s the o so important thing – that the lessons ARE learned… there is no going back… So – the gaining of more wisdom from the learning can “enable [us] to take care in what [we] choose.”
