This is interesting Butch. I see a deckchair, something that could possibly be a ladder and alot of dark unknowingness. You have me stumped this time. The white disk may be a centre satge sort of refection, signifying a need to put a spotlight on the fear? If i’m talking crap let me know, I love to get to the bottom of your work.

seems like this represents the balancing act…...of life….juggling the past with the future…..now the spotlight is upon this moment in time and maybe you have just stepped back and let it all go!

You really have a great imagination my friend… you’ll have to let me know the meaning some time soon….

life is a circus?? Totally agree – lol. And if we look at it from the opposite direction – climbing down the ladder into the spotlight – out of the dark of the past and into the light – there’s still that one long last step to take! So much you could read into this Butch, my dearest – interesting to have that chair look like it’s floating in the air too – lol- I know it’s an illusion but that’s the effect. Thought provoking and just a tad disturbing with my morning coffee, sweet man!

  • butchart replied

i guess it really is all about how we choose to perceive things my dear… fear..life…love…... i think ambiguity in art can play a role in making people think… so as always.. i dearly love your comment and you….........b

Diving into the unknown can always perpetrate fear…..jumping in with “blind faith” .....is always a challenge, and one that many people don’t take because of the fear of the unknown…......The darkness signifies the unknown…the pool and the ladder signifies the action one takes to get past the challenge…......could be totaly off the wall here b…........that is my first impression though….........

As the past has a habit of returning, then those past fears return also….we need to come out of the dark/the past, into the light/the future….confronting our past/our fears, facing them head on, creates an awareness within, which then tends to help us to forget our fears….which results in us being bathed in light. I’m thinking only you will understand me B.,...lol. That’s just what this image makes me feel.
