There is such freedom when machines can do the work
Which takes the drudgery away
There is much fun
When time is made for those exciting things
Which expand you mind and day
But wait, the dishwasher washes dishes no more
The vacuum cleaner has ceased its vacuuming
The television no longer gives it’s stories
And even the washing machine has deserted us
In only four weeks our life has changed
The electrictrickery still throbs its ways
Into our house
But finds so little to satisfy itself
This miracle seems somewhat mundane
As I spend a vast amount
To climb back
To reach the plateau of where we were before
Should we curry favour?
Ride the celestial comet?
Or engage in private contemplation?
Or is there some other way?
Climbing but without a Sherpa
Solving but without a Sherlock
Driving but with no motor
Swimming but with no water
Lost on the white face of the mountain
With choices that seem to make no sense
Does mega equal hertz
Do ratios play with green credentials?
I’m stuffed and go
With what is set
What difference?
Ask those who know.
