ON NOT GETTING BROADBAND

I thought I’d write a poem
To celebrate success
But that would mean I had some
To you I will confess

If a journey starts with that very first step
Plus others on the way
And each one is gladly met
At nothing will I sway

So why after all these months
Of doing what I ought
And going to some extreme lengths
Where’s that Broadband that I bought?

It only works when on the phone
Or when the phone’s unplugged
And I emit a mighty groan
And feel that I’ve been mugged

As soon as my call is at an end
Broadband goes to bed
And then cannot receive or send
My triangle’s gone red

If you can help me please don’t call
‘Cos even though I’m home
Those messages are bound to stall
But letters often come

One day perhaps when I am old
In cyber space I’ll play
And all my bytes will be so bold
But never go away
