There was an old woman
Lived under a hill
And if she isn’t gone
She lives there still

This is my illustration of a very old English poem (probably from the 1600s). I like the mysterious and alusive connotations of the poem.

Arthur Rackham is one of my favourite illustrators has also illustrated this poem.

This is very well composed. I’d love to see how you’d handle There was an Old Woman tossed up in a basket-)

  • Thank you. I hadn’t come across that rhyme. I will accept the challenge.
