sad farewell...

i’m sorry to say that i can no longer function on RB… supposedly its my ISP, my ISP says its RB, and since RB is the ONLY site i seem to have ANY problems with, i can’t really present an argument to my ISP…

i have been having recurring problems since april and after this last update it seems i’ve lost the ability to change pics and upload new ones… just had my show, which went FANTASTIC (would post pics but i can’t) , put RB on ALL of my cards and promotional stufff, and now with all the increased traffic and potential sales i can’t update everything to make it look its best… really disappointing… and i can’t upload new works to give you guys and my potential clientele a taste of whats to come… i have been trying to fix this since the 9th to no avail, RB has admitted the problem is just beyond them… so i’m at a loss…

and as much as i love RB, if i can’t function here… i will have to somewhere else…. :(

i would like to thank you all for your friendship and support over the last year and a half, i am sorry to anyone that i failed to respond to, the problems at times prevented it, other times i was just trying to catch up my page while things were working… thanks to all that joined my groups! sorry about the last couple months, again problems got me backed up and it became overwhelming, i really planned on getting back on top of them post-show and as soon as the bugs were fixed…

i plan on keeping my page up for a bit, hopefully RB figures ot the problem, but if not i will post my new info as soon as i am set up elsewhere… hope to find some of at least some of you out there :)...

again thank you for everything, i’ll miss you all…

sorry this seems so brief… i could go on for a long while, but i’m not even sure this will upload… so i don’t wanna spend hours writing … to myself…

    apparently another user has tried that, to no avail… can’t see why? but really we have exhausted nearly every idea we’ve come up with… Thanks for the offer though, i do appreciate it, if it does start working that way i may take you up on that offer :) ...
    I really enjoyed your work as well, hopefully my account will stay open for a bit, not sure how often they weed out inactive accounts, i’d love to be able to keep an eye on my watchlist… and thanks for your email, mine is burrlappin@yahoo.com , love to be added to your mailing list, probably won’t be in the area :), but i’d still love to hear about any upcoming shows or anything regarding your progress.

    Another person has tried to upload your images and can’t???? That IS weird… I’d sure love to help you out and give it a try too if you want me too, my partner’s a techie and will offer you any advice that might help if you want to try him, plus I’m a bit of a geek too and have learnt a few ins and outs. ;) I get obsessed a bit with things like this and very determined to figure out the answers, so if you want to drop me a bit of info about what operating system you use, firewall you’re running, make of computer, software programmes you’re using to create your images in, you can bmail me at jennifer.b.poetry.com
    Don’t give up yet, I’m sure there will be an answer to your dilemma, and it would be a great loss to redbubble for people to miss out on viewing your wonderful art and reading your words, plus from the short time I’ve known you, you seem like a really great person yourself too!!! ;

    here was my post ... there are several on the subject though, we’ve been trying to figure it out for a bit…mttmaliha has the same issue same isp and she tried having another upload her work, to no avail…. she even sent it to RB staff (i think… i know staff asked for it, and i know shes all about getting the problem fixed) and so far they haven’t been able to help…

    hughes says there is no problem…. those were from RB… ?
    and no, unfortunately i’m limited here (ISP’s)... don’t wanna downgrade… plus i have NO issues elsewhere… things were working fine before the last update, so i kinda think it’s on RB’s end… ?

    Anyone else you know around who uses the same isp where you could take your hard drive to and try it out there? At least it would isolate whether it’s a bubble prob or a conflict at your end, also the system restore might be worth a try.

    oh yes… tried that.. no luck…
    even if i found a way to do it from a different location… temporarily… i’ve had to before… the issue with that is that this has been a recurring thing for me since april, so it’s hardly a temporary issue at this point… (part of the reason i got going on hardware) and i know me, that is far to inconvenient for me to keep up with for an extended period of time… not to say i wouldn’t want to but i run on a different schedule than most… it just wouldn’t work… :|

    system restore didn’t work for me, though i’ve never had any luck with it

    oops i lied… i didn’t take my harddrive directly, it’s internal… i used a memory stick :)

    Just wondered whether your computer would work with the same isp at a different location to see whether it’s a conflict with your isp and own ip address, or alternatively, if you used a different isp at a different location to work out whether or not it’s definitely a prob with your isp and not a computer setting. I get blank pages and time outs at some addresses when the new firefox update came out, also, some ad and pop up blockers can block sites and images due to weird and wacky reasons, have you made sure anything like that has been disabled and/or tried a different browser? Frustrating I know… But it’s often a process of elimination to pin-point the cause.

    yes, i regularly use IE7 and i’ve tried firefox… the last time i had issues i upgraded to IE8 (made no difference), though i haven’t this time around… i VERY rarely accept add ons so the browsers are pretty basic, and i’ve tried uploading with everything disabled… running only what was necessary… still nothing but blank pages… i was REALLY surprised that this actually uploaded…

    i ran through a series of a few things a friend suggested, though i think most of it occurs during a hard reboot… new ip, proxy… also ran a few ping tests both before and after… lots being sent 0 packets being recieved… not sure if that helps you any…

    and as far as taking my harddrive directly to a different comp with the same isp… i don’t know of anyone else with a desktop i could connect to with the same isp… near me anyway… :\ ... i could try a different computer/isp tomorrow, too late tonight…

    Derek my man…..I had nothing but trouble for a while and it turns out it was my ISP. They required me to configure a proxy server to use their service, but redbubble doesn’t seem to like proxy servers. So I use opera for everything and google chrome for redbubble. One with a proxy and one without…..I hate my ISP by the way (Hughesnet)...but it’s what I can get where I live.
