your words are flowers underneath my skin
they bloom, and fade, and bloom again
thrown by old emotions, tumbled by guilt
i come again to your quiet inscriptions
your gentle insistence to just let go
today i hear again your teaching
to let everything fall apart
and I falter, afraid; but moved somehow
to let this chaos strike me, move through me
and pass without harm beyond me
i am living by your words, your smile
and things are falling apart
with blood, and tears, and mindless grief they fall
with horror and yet with surrender
til finally one day I will be left naked: raw, and broken
but unmistakeably: still breathing

Beautiful and yes, perhaps a touch sad, but also hopeful that there is a way to withstand the storms of this world we exist in… Excellent writing.
Yes she’s a wise woman. Letting things fall apart is the most difficult thing – the ego keeps wanting to patch them together again – great poem. :o)
very powerful and quite familiar.
YES.. still breathing… such a journey of a poem.. you have a remarkable brilliance with your wordweaving.. i am always left like i need to breath and have a cigarette (and i don’t smoke!).. i especially loved the beginning lines your words are flowers underneath my skin
they bloom, and fade, and bloom again… wow
beautifully written with the best dedication… but it is true, still breathing don’t they say “to walk through the fire” and come out the otherside.. I am so happy so see this fall out of you
Well….
words cannot be spelt without breathing.
So the one left inpin and nakedness
has foundthe truest of words…
out of decision,
soul surrenders to the form
and shape of Life…
