I have often said when my honey and I go walking, we take the path least taken. More so the day we were out when this was taken. There was a huge marathon going on and we had to park at the other end of the wetlands we go to and walk in by another route. We chanced upon seeing this little beauty not too far away. This little guy is a juvenile Buteo lineatus. They are medium sized with a long tail and legs. They have white tail bands that are wider than on the other types of Red-Shouldered Hawk. A great find for us. :o)
