Momma? by Bunny Clarke

This little cutie heard us coming down the path and hurried to get up in the hole of the nest box. Perched and ready to get dinner before any of the other siblings could get theirs. This is a Tree Swallow. Lots of babies this trip out. :o)

what an expression, what a little chubby poop :)

  • It barely made it to fit in the box hole. Mom and dad go right through. This one fills it up. Gets its fill right away. LOL! Thank you very much. :o)

There’s a nest up under an old light fixture under our carport, that swallows have built, and they’ve now (it seems as of yesterday) got babies! Sooooooo cute!! They look a lot like this little one, but even younger, with lots of feathery stuff standing straight up all over the tops of their itty heads! We don’t know what kind of swallows they are, just that they’re swallows…..maybe barn swallows? Not sure, anyway……but this little one looks a good bit like the ones under our carport, just a little older, with more actual feathers. CUTE! (I’m trying to get decent pictures without getting too close, as the parents are easily spooked)

  • the parents will dive bomb you too. Won’t hurt you, but they will make you duck. LOL. They are fun. I saw so many baby birds this weekend, I can hardly wait to show them all off. :o) Thank you Michelle.

What a face! Too delightful, Bunny! Great capture! Too bad you didn’t have any worms with you.

  • Thank you Christina. I never feed babies unless I know they have been abandoned. It’s too easy to cause problems interfering. An old habit learned in the days of growing up in Wyoming. I was taught a very healthy respect for nature. This little one was very well fed. LOL! Probably overfed, by the way it could barely fit in the doorway. :o)
