As a child, and even now, I read everything I could get my hands on. My favorites as a young girl were stories about horses. Wild horses. Growing up in Wyoming, mustangs were the main subject of reading. Then, I found a book calling the horses brumbies (brumby). It seems Australia, like the USA, had wild horses that ran loose across the country. I decided to put together several photos I had and combine them into one sketch. I then painted this in Photoshop using natural media brushes and my impressionistic style. There were 5 layers and this took about 7 hours to complete off and on. :o)

They look lovely, like out of a dream. When I was a child, I loved horses too, dreaming of being a cowboy. :)

  • I didn’t want to be the cowboy. I wanted to be the horse! The wild horse. LOL! Thank you hon. :o)
