Throughout time, man has tried to apply their feelings to humanize animals. To apply emotions that they believe the animal has. Sometimes I agree. Sometimes I do not. This creature touched me in a way I cannot explain. Gently sleeping in the sun as I sketched him. The breeze gently blowing his hair, he seemed not to have a care in the world. :o)
Created from a sketch and painted in Photoshop using some brushes that emulate felt tip markers. I used to use these and apply a wash to give a ink and brush effect with the markers when I did traditional art. I tried to give a similar effect to this one as well. This has 7 layers and took about 6 hours to complete.

It is a foible of humans to put our own emotions onto creatures, most often with the great apes, but we do it all the time. Is it ego?
I believe it is a bit of ego. We get too big for our britches sometimes. :o)
