Kiki was born on a ranch in Colorado. She was a designer kitty (half Manx, half Persian). The breeder didn’t like how the litter turned out, so she was going to drown the litter.

My friend had seen Kiki, who wanted to be cuddled and to follow someone who would pay attention to her. She asked the breeder if she could have Kiki for a friend.

As it turned out, my husband died a week after Kiki came to live with me. The tiny little kitten made sure she was close by, giving me baths and purring to let me know I wasn’t alone. She followed me everywhere I went. She would only pay attention to others when I wasn’t around.

Kiki was my companion for 22 years. She has been gone for five years now, but I still smile when I think of the tiny six pound ball of fur who was a little healer.

Created in Photoshop with 6 layers using my natural media brushes using an impressionistic wet watercolor style. This took about 4 hours to complete.

What a spectacular and amazing history Kiki has! .. and you! She obviously was your soulmate and angel to help you in tough times, and good times – to be there for you no matter what. So sad she’s gone but she is ever there with you in spirit, as is your loving husband. I just believe that you will never be alone or lost… they will always be there for you! What a beautiful cat!!!! xx

  • I feel very fortunate to have had both of them in my life. She was so sweet and loving. Thank you for stoppy by. :o)

What a beautiful touching story and portrait of your feline friend Bunny. :)

  • She was so beautiful. So tiny. She could be a little witch at times, but we all loved her. Thank you Sharon. :o)

You were lucky to have her for 22 years :o)

  • I was very fortunate to have her so long. She rarely was sick and was never overweight. She was so funny. Thank you. :o)

What a delightful but sad story, and such a noble portrait. It’s a coincidence, but I have resurrected my last kitty as the companion of my newest character Jemma, different name, but I am thinking of him, the Ultimate Cat. The next two I will post give you a hint of Nixie, but more will follow.

  • This should be very fun then Syd. I will be on the look out for them. Thank you hon. :o)
