The Hare Creeping Down the Back Stair by

George was a good hare, but he tended to be too curious for his own good. I caught him early one morning grazing on my fruit and veggie bin in the refrigerator. I always laid out food for him that was fresh from the garden, but he got cheeky and was raiding my food now. I scolded him for eating most of it and he just waggled those great long ears, acted like his feelings were hurt and crept down the back stairs. I now knew where the fresh food I had for myself was going. I finally had to change the locks because he knew how to pick the old type locks. I know it seems cruel of me, but I do try to make sure he doesn’t starve. The problem is, hares always think they are hungry. :o)

This digital watercolor was created in Photoshop CC. This was based on a sculpture I had seen somewhere in my travels and was taken with. I wish now, I had gotten more information on it. This had 6 layers and took about 8.5 hours to complete.

Definitely worth the time and effort, Bunny. Beautiful art! Isn’t it about time for George to sign up for food stamps or at the least, take you out to dinner? Lol ’-)

  • Oh that would be quite nice, especially if I don’t threaten George that he WILL be dinner. :o) Thank you Pete.

A Bunny should never let a hare get to them ;-)

  • Yeah, for everyone that a hare gets to, 20 more gray hares will appear in its place. ;o) Thank you James.

Very cool, Bunny, I have noticed an increase in the wildlife around here, mostly in the form of feral cats, which I have been feeding since some of them have been very very tiny.

  • Oh, you will be come a cat man on us now. I am glad you have a kind heart. My little girls are both rescues. :o)
