There was a time when I hated the holidays. It meant a lot of stress, fighting and arguments. As a child, I usually hid away in my room. Out of sight, out of mind. Blasting music so I couldn’t hear, though subliminally I still did. I made a promise to myself then, I would not repeat my parents mistakes. For the most part, I maintained that promise. We always had a nice holiday by ourselves or with family. My children are still carrying on that part of the promise I made myself all those years ago. I believe we are in charge of our happiness and destiny. If we don’t like what we have, change it. These changes take time and repetition. I wanted my children and their children to have a chance at a happier life. They did. I’m proud of them. I hope your holidays are filled with peace and happiness as well. And hope. :o)
