Caught in a Web of Lies by Bunny Clarke

A friend and I were talking about honesty not too long ago. She told me her reason for telling the truth. I told her I didn’t because I was not only a bad liar (I found that out at a very early age), but I couldn’t keep the lies straight in my head. What’s the point? When you get found out, everyone is mad at you for ages. At least if you tell the truth, they are only mad at you for what you said, but not for telling the truth. They don’t lose their faith in you as a human being. :o)

When I was young, my father said, “Keep your lies honest.” I learned the importance of half-truths! :-)

“Oh what a tangled web we weave,
“When first we practise to deceive!”
    Sir Walter Scott

  • I wasn’t good at half-truths either. It is much easier to stick to the truth. That way you only get in trouble once. :o)
