*"Compassion, Courage and Friendship"* - A Review

As I write this review I can almost here my ex-supervisor at the newspaper saying over my shoulder as I view the cover…”Missing hyphens and heaven forbid an ampersand in a title”. You see he was old school, a veteran from hot metal days and a stickler for rules of typography and layout. I on the other hand grew up in a different era and think the layout of the cover works well as it groups the words of passion, courage and friend together.

When I delve further into the book I can hear him again, you should not mix font families together. On this one I tend to be in agreement, I would prefer to see san serif fonts used throughout in varying weights.

On a brighter note he would have raved about the quality of the overall product as all the photos are in perfect registration and the trimming of the book is also spot on, something which was a bit hit and miss at the paper with special publications.

The written works, photos and illustrations tear at the heart strings and draw the viewer into their meaning. The book is a brilliant compilation of the works of many talented people at Redbubble and is a credit to their professionalism as well as their individual characters.

“Compassion, Courage and Friendship” would make the perfect coffee table book for you or a special present for someone you cherish. Keep an eye out for its release at the Redbubble Store which should be any day now.
