Dinefwr Castle Between Trees-01-detail – An intimate view of a snow scene at Dinefwr Castle near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, West Wales, an ancient Welsh castle once the seat of a Welsh King (Howell Dda). This picture, cropped to provide an image picture for greetings cards (though also great for smaller prints), is one of the most important in the nation’s history; both as a unifying force within Wales and as a defence against the English invaders.
Dinefwr Castle is set amongst the stunningly beautiful backdrop of the Towy Valley, just outside the Brecon Beacon National Park, and is a well known tourist attraction, open to visitors almost all year round. The artist, Pat Bullen-Whatling, is lucky enough to live within walking distance and this ancient park features frequently as an inspiration for her work.
