Ok, which ones of you have 5000+ views on one image...
...and do you want to help me host the group I want to start? You won’t have to do anything, just look pretty up there as a host. There are hardly any rules, it’s just about the fun and the inspiration of seeing images which have had a lot of attention paid to them; good or bad.

Same here, size doesn’t always mean quality. Um. Or more sales, it could be a controversial image that has tons of views for all the wrong reasons. Or, it could be that one in a million shot that I really want to see.

Go Tracey. Yes, some of my smaller, more petitely viewed (yes, new word) images have better sales. There are lot’s of reasons some images have more hits that others. It could be that the thumbnail really stands out amongst the others, works for me when I’m browsing around here.

Oh Cath, you’re all just showing off; ‘I’ve got 50,000 is that enough?’ My best is only 32,000, but I don’t have time’ ’ I have a few!!! but…’ etc. There should be a group for those with one view/one comment for what they consider their best work. Ha, Just jealous really having scraped into the 100’s after nearly 2 years, and most of them were me! So sorry, I can’t help host the Look at Me even more Group. :) Good luck though you all deserve more publicity. I’ve added Brett’s Train to my faves.

This is a great idea Cathleen. A couple of issues that I think would need to be worked out.
Firstly, how do you verify that the submitted pic has the requisite views? I run the group Sold and just do it on a trust basis as I can’t verify whether submitted pics are sold or not but with a group based on view count I think some people would be really tempted to lie about it.
The second thing is that webbots can vastly inflate view counts. I have one pic with over 20,000 views but it only has 30 favouritings, so I strongly suspect most of these views aren’t legitimate – they are hits from webbots.
On the other hand this pic has only 7,431 views but 234 favouritings so the views are legitimate I think.
Also nudes get heaps of views (even if the photo is actually pretty crap) and so you’ll end up with heaps of these types of shots compared to any other. However compared to other genres nudes get relatively few comments or favouritings.
So what I’d suggest to deal with these issues is you combine views and favouritings to get the very best shots. Eg the group could be the “5,000 views + 100 favouritings” Group – any shot that fits that criteria is going to be pretty bloody good. And over time you could have a few such groups so the next level up became “7,500 views + 150 favouritings”. Another parallel group could be based on sales for a particular image eg ”$100+ Earnings” or “50 items sold”
Anyway – just some thoughts – hope you don’t mind.

Using views may be a bit unfair really since there are some members with moderate talents but a lot of friends, some with a lot of talent who don’t push themselves forward enough and slip through unnoticed and some like yourself who work very hard, have bags of natural talent and deserve every comment and sale they get.. Then you have the scenario where comments start out as being about the picture then go off at a tangent and turn into a massive talking shop disconnected entirely from the image they’re written under.
I’d be happy to help but I think it may need tinkering with.

Hi Meach, yes I agree with all of that. But still, I want to see them. There really isn’t any way around it, with all of the wrong reasons why people have a lot of views (the same can be said for comments and favourites), other than not doing it at all. Which would be silly as, regardless of what opinion you have of people with high whatever, you would still want to see, if only to scoff at lol. I think it’s going to be stunningly gorgeous and very interesting. Much like yourself :)
