gratitude oils the wheels of giving
sparking creativity within my human soul,
a glimpse of breaking day
humbles me with every ray…
the play of light upon my walls
sends me searching in worlds
of shadows and light…
newly fallen snow fills my soul
with awe of peace untold…
or aging couple holding hands
with history of love
melting in their eyes…
a newborn baby
assaulting my senses
with their heavenly smell
and innocent eyes…
their tight little grasps
holding my heart
around their little fingers…
southern summer nights
covered with bugs of sparkling lights
and it’s earthy smell
that is like no other…
laughing children
tinkling around me
with animated faces
full of life
and…
poignant souls aged to perfection
with wisdom written
in every single line.
Ah!...
my friend…
the easer question?
what lies in the depths
of
NO
inspiration!

A powerful ending. Well driven to a sudden, deep, and opposing anchor. No, it is not so easy to see; yes?

‘gratitude oils the wheels of giving’ – such a perfect line to lead into a poem filled with wonder and the things we so often miss in our haste to get through the day. Just beautiful!!
