the cry from within

torn inside,
stretched …
beyond the limit
not knowing
which way to go,
where to turn
stress…
pain in people’s eyes
churning chaos closing in
rumblings in the aching heart
of nowhere
no one
no return
grabbing spirits
tortured niceties
pieces of soul torn away
desolation of closest ,
digging holes into the heart
failing eyes,
deceitful lies!
hurting empty visions
slithering by
screaming ,demanding
yelling ,me ! me ! me!
shrinking innocence
melting away
dripping …
oozing
selfish
carnal decay
leaving no room
for others in
churning, gnawing
emptiness…....
filled so full
of self
righteousness!
Lord, sometimes
the peace from YOU
is so overclouded
with humanity demands
heal us Father
soothe our wounds
with the tears that dropped
from that cross so long ago
fill our hearts
with the love
melting from your eyes
we need the grace
we have shoved so far away
your tender touch restoring
those holes
the shelter of your wings
softly enfolding
nourishing
calming the waves
peace, my Lord
from nowhere else but You
Jesus, sweet Jesus,
lover of our souls
friend and lover
like no other
peace,
sweet peace
be still…
