It all began when I told her “your skin is so soft, just like velvet”.
I then remembered about an old blue velvet dress that I had forgotten about. She decided to wear it. It was way too big for her and I had to safety pin it under her armpits.
The wind was so strong it was difficult to set up. Even holding onto the camera whilst trying to help her lay there felt like I was about to take off in flight.
I begged her to tie her hair back and take off those hideous looking running shoes. She is a tomboy. We love sunflowers, this lot have just finished their season in the garden.
Only a handful of goes of pressing of the shutter and that was it. A splinter embedded in her foot and we had to stop.
These days I hit that shutter hundreds of times per sitting. I still always get the most pleasure from only taking a few shots. So simple. I always like to leave a bit of time to go by before revisiting the photographs. It allows them to settle and come into there own a little easier. For me it’s an integral part of the creative process that goes into making a photograph. I enjoy taking my time.

I know what you mean about letting them sit for awhile before processing them….it’s like having the whole experience all over again! Gorgeous works here ab!
exactly mel.
also they tend to look a little better after a time, LOL
time seems to have a special effect on them just like it does a fine aged wine or cheese.
and if you leave a long time, that gives you a different perspective again, because you have moved ahead in time while they are still waiting for you to visit them. who knows what plans they have conjured up for you whilst waiting. that’s when real magic happens.
thanks luv and for your continued support, i really appreciate it. ;-) xox
