This image was printed using liquid light. This is a silver-based sensitizer for applying on any surface, exposing by an enlarger, and processing in conventional chemistry. It is virtually the same emulsion found on ordinary photographic paper, but in a liquid form and can allow the emulsion to be coated on a wide range of surfaces. Here I have applied the liquid light using a brush to scrap metal and once it was dried exposed it with the enlarger. It was then developed, fixed and washed similar to any photographic paper. The final piece of scrap metal was then stuck onto painted pine to be displayed. The image you see before you is then a digital photograph of the displayed piece.
The original photograph used to create this piece can be found here
fantastic work, great process. often wanted to try it, used to like doing transfers as part of doing mixed medium works like rauchenberg but my own method and means not his industrial solvent etc. wonderful aglaia.
thanks so much mh. rauchenberg, he just passed away recently too. ;-( mixed mediums are so fun to do! ;-) xox
you are amazing with your techniques, I always wondered how they put photographic images on things like coffee mugs and metal and wood…seems like a lot of work and being around those chemicals, the one thing I hated when I worked with film ages ago….you have a gift, my dear….
nothing like a good rush from all those chemicals! LOL only kidding! yes i do get a little lost in these techniques. nothing different to getting lost with editing techniques really. tis the same thing yes? thanks so much mychael. your masturbation series with dee may have to wait for better days. have you read all this stuff that has been going down today. ;-) xox

Beautiful image aglaia, an instant favourite! I’ll bet the original version of this looks sensational! It’s getting late here, so I’d better not get you all excited by enticing you into a little… Performance Art, for I would only have to leave you lingering, hot with anticipation, for a climax that would, more than likely, never eventuate! Besides, the picture is far too beautiful to soil and stain! lol ;-)
psst… how the hell did ‘you know who’ manage to get out here to view your work when he did!!! what is he, a ferking shape shifter or something??? lmao! ;)-
tis getting late i know! LOL and i would hate to be left here alone and excited, a little similar to what i did to you back in that ~t~horny garden of mine!
thanks so much for restraining yourself and not getting me all hot and bothered, it would be such a shame to stain this art work. ;-) LOL
pssst, he is very good at jumping out of prickly bushes hey! LOL ;-) xox
yeah, it takes me much time and tedium with the various programs I use, but at least I chose what vapors hit my nostrils, lol yeah, I suppose if I cropped away her hands, I dunno…I have recently been a victim of the censorship police…I read it..my counter is in my journal as editorial…
LOL cropped away her hands, well that defeats the whole thing now. does it not! oh i missed your journal, i’ll have a read. ;-) xox
