This series was shot the old fashioned way, the camera an old Pentax K1000 with ILford Black and White film and printed using high contrast filters.

The model really needed to use the toilet during shooting. She could not hold on hence this shot, which was purposely blurred to save her some embarrassment. Often the shots that are not planned may turn out the best. This one being my personal favourite from the day.

Aglaia, I think you know I do something called Past Connections which relates to our past lives! You have a very strong connections with Edwardian times and An Inspector Calls by JB Priestley. The Birling family is built completely on hypocrisy: everyone is hiding something. The relationships in the book come crumbling down when the inspector forces each and every character to look at their role in the poor suicide of Eva Smith….this is a very compelling photograph and stirs so many thoughts and feelings! Well done Aglaia…Really moving!Sx

  • All very interesting sophie! thank you!
