blood on my hands
This image was shot on transparency film and the transparency was manipulated further using a Daylab printer and Polaroid pull apart film where the film is pulled apart before a positive can be processed. The dyes remaining on the Polaroid film were then transferred by rolling onto blotting paper. This is a very unique technique as you will never be able to reproduce the same image twice. There will always be a different amount of dye remaining on the film each time you do it making each image different from the last.
A red pencil was also used here to darken the lips a little and the bottom of the dress. A black pencil was also used on the bottom.
More works created using this technique can be found here

This is REALLY cool…is it me – or does this look like a geniune watercolor painting? LOVE the technique applied here – and the look in her eyes is very compelling…both feral and child-like.

Aglaia this reminds me of a very dramatic occasion. It takes me to a true story based in one of the most powerful families of Transylvania around 1560 where lived a Countess who was married to a military hero known as Black Knight. She was only 15 at the time and when he died she developed a sadistic streak and embarked on a career of crime with the help of her manservant and two witches. One day after a servant girl’s blood got on her hand, the Countess was convinced that her skin has been rejuvenated. Blood on my hands reminds me of this occasion, except your version depicts the incident in Modern Times. I think your treatment of the Polaroid film is fantastic and using the coloured pencils is just marvellous! You see you do take us to a different dimension! I was right in the first place. This is a wonderfully dramatic picture and one you should be proud of! Thinking of you as always!Sxox
