lost in a blue place
This image was shot on transparency film and the transparency was manipulated further using a Daylab printer and Polaroid pull apart film where the film is pulled apart before a positive can be processed. The dyes remaining on the Polaroid film were then transferred by rolling onto blotting paper. This is a very unique technique as you will never be able to reproduce the same image twice. There will always be a different amount of dye remaining on the film each time you do it making each image different from the last.

I just love this process. . . and I adore the image in this shot.
it’s a beautiful title and there is great emotion in the eyes again. I am amazed how much of that still comes through in this style. Very powerful. . . the title makes me think of how we seem to always want to trace back when we are stuck in that blue place. . . to find our way through and to understand what was before or what could have been. . .
aglaia b replied
nicolas nicolas….what am i to do with you?
how true are the words you speak

What’s wonderful about the technique you use is that it’s very similar to monoprinting…only one copy. This is a wonderful image! The colour blue relates to peace and communication, which you do very well! Keep at it…you have a wonderful talent which is shining through! It really is!S
aglaia b replied

She is a beauty captured with your amazing chemical process. Love the way the background is like an abstract painting. Her clothes could be a straight jacket or corset the way it is tied at the back. May the Goddess bless you! I see she has already been doing that with your amazing talent.
aglaia b replied
helen, what a wonderful thing to say…v e r y insightful, she wears a corset here….these days she may wear a straight jacket….may the Goddess bless her too. ;-) x

Incredible image! Your process sound amazing and complicated. I like that there is only one-of-a-kind art resulting from it. Beautiful woman, beautiful work.
aglaia b replied
yes the “one-of-a-kind art resulting from it” is what makes it so special and then we are able to scan it in and duplicate it as often as we want. LOL. technology is truly amazing!
thank you so much for your comment ;-) x

talented lady, this is stunning work! should I sound like one of those art farty photographer people and tell you how much I love the treatment…?
psst… wtf is the treatment anyway?aglaia b replied
thanks jen from 29 days ago! sorry it’s taken me this long to reply! ;
)) xoxi think the treatment refers to, in this case technique i’ve used to get the end result. i am also guilty of using the word treatment however i usually use it when talking about digital works and these days i’ve changed it to editing techniques instead! ;
