Joy ~ this is just beautiful ~ such glorious colour.
Now I may be absolutely wrong ~ but I think they may be a Hollyhock??

  • Thanks so much Sharon. I googled it and the flowers and leaves look correct.

Now O know what a hollyhock looks like. My mother used to go on about them but we never grew them.

  • Fred its name is ivy-leafed geranium but it looks a lot like Hollyhock so I believe.

The color is wonderful in these flowers, as is the petal detail! My best guess is ivy-leafed geranium (pelargonium).

  • Thanks so much Celeste. I’m a bit confused with the name of this flower but pleased that I was able to the the leaves in the photo. I have googled the name you have given and will have to look some more.

Joy, my ID is based not only on the leaves but on the center detail of the bottom flower, That whorl pattern is characteristic of geraniums.

  • Thanks again Celeste for naming this flower. You put you finger on the part of the flower that stumped me. I will change my name. I found this flower in some ones front garden close enough for me to take a photo of. Always appreciated Celeste.

  • I can see how it got its name by the leaves.
