Beautiful work. Is it a snapdragon?

    Di

  • bubbleblue replied

Hi Di, this is a Melbourne grown tree called Sapphire Dragon or also know as Powton or paulownia tree. They are each a long drop of flowers and the leaves are sticky and large. The wood can be used to make furniture. I agree with you the leaves do look like snapdragons. It is a very fast growing tree.

Hi again, here’s a pic of mine. I looked it up and they’re known by both names, lol.

  • bubbleblue replied

Thanks Sharon, yours seems to be deeper and more detailed than mine. They are a beautiful tree with large hairy but sticky leaves. Looks beautiful when totally out in flowers. Wonderful shade tree also. Thanks so much for showing yours.
