Lovely macro Joy – and such a beautiful coloured tulip :o))
Oh! I just read your info – to me it does look like a tulip – but if it’s not would be very interested to know what it really is :o)) Great capture anyway!
bubbleblue replied
It may be Sharon i’m unsure as the tops of the petals looked different to a tulip.
Gene Walls
Gorgeous macro capture, Joy! I’m pretty sure that this is a variety of tulip, and a very beautiful one at that! Excellent work!
bubbleblue replied
Hi Gene i’m really unsure it didn’t look like the kind of Tulips i’m use to and it was fully open and the tops of the petals looked different. I really need to learn my flower names. (smile) Thanks Gene so much for your comment.

O, and yes, it’s a tulip, Joy, no doubt with me :) – they come in so many different colours and shapes, but the stamen and gynoecium (oops, what a wrd, had to look that one up lol) are quite typical :)
bubbleblue replied
Many thanks Steppeland for letting me know. I really appreciate it.
