Interviewing Vanesse & Budrfli (Sandy)

This time I’ll be interviewing Vanesse & Budrfli (Sandy) about their collaboration entitled “Sunbrew At Heavens Gate”.

Bubba: Vanesse, when did you start writing poetry?
Vanesse: I started writing poetry as a young adult. My writing seemed to mature as I did.
Bubba: Sandy, How did you get started in photography?
Sandy: I have always had a camera in my hand. My family have suffered the most from this :O). And when scrap booking became the craze I was in the forefront taking even more pictures. But, I would have to say that the internet really opened up my options and learning more than anything. I met fellow photographers on another site and we eventually merged here. In that process I discovered adobe photoshop which brought me fully into the digital world. I am just a novice there but love the options…sorry I am long winded..this is my passion!
Bubba: Vanesse, Do you write for yourself or to communicate with others?
Vanesse: Both. My poetry has always been inspired by love or by a deeply moving situation such as the passing of my father or the birth of my first grandchild.
Bubba: Sandy, How did you and Vanesse find each other for this collaboration?
Sandy: Vanesse approached me. When I saw her name in my activity I began reading her work and did enjoy what she writes. We decided mutually to share a few of our pieces. The giving and taking is a phenomenal feeling and has been a success here on Red Bubble with her and others here.
Bubba: Vanesse, what is the inspiration behind your writing on the collaboration “Sunbrew At Heavens Gate”?
Vanesse: Before the collaboration with Budrfli’s “Sunbrew” the poem’s original title is “At Heaven’s Gate” I wrote it for someone years ago when his mother passed. I know the person I wrote it for only as Robert. He was barely an acquaintance but I was deeply inspired by his grief. I had just experienced the passing of my father. It was my way of helping him through the experience. I found Budrfli’s “Sunbrew” beautiful; she did a great job of combining the two works as one. What a blessing!
Bubba: Sandy, What was your inspiration for the image used in the collaboration “Sunbrew At Heaven’s Gate”?
Sandy: I recently rediscovered an old photo of mine that was a beautiful sunrise. I began playing with it with an hdr program and then Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 I discovered a method of playing with a photo that I now call “puterdoodle”. Sunbrew was the outcome of this finished piece.

On behalf of all Lyrical Visionaries I thank you both for taking time for this interview and sharing with us!
