Sometimes when I’m concentrating on the details of a vehicle, I forget to look at the overall. That was the case here. I know it’s an old Chevrolet, but I don’t know which model or year. I’m guessing late ‘40s or early 50’s.

Just found out it’s a 1939.

Shot at the Silicon Valley Auto Shw, this is one of the vehicles on display with a local lowriders club.

bob wall, btwgf, chevy, chevrolet, lowrider, gold

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.

What a beautiful colour it is in that lovely light!

  • Took a little work because of that light. Not the greatest lighting for photography.

Oh superb Bob. What a great angle to so off the beautiful details. I love the old cars and go to a lot of the antique cars shows. I still haven’t figured out photographing these beauties, but always enjoy seeing the work of other who do. Wonderful! Kathy :)

  • Thanks Kathy. I do love shooting cars; new, old anywhere in-between. A friend, who is also an automotive writer and magazine editor gives me a lot of encouragement and advice.
