I remember dropping my dimes in these boxes on buses and streetcars, then waiting while the driver made sure I put in the correct amount before flipping the handle to drop them down into the bottom box.

Shot in the car barn at San Jose History Park. They restore old streetcars and put them up on display. Some of them even get put back into service.

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.
