A hang glider taking off from the pad at Fort Funston in San Francisco.

Many years ago, I took a few hang glider lessons (the technology sure has come a long way since the mid 70’s). My plan was to learn to hang glide, then when I got stationed back in Germany, I was going to strap on a hang glider and ski off a cliff. As it turned out, I never got the knack of hang gliding down and figured it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to go skiing off a cliff if I couldn’t glide. Oh well.

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.
