Service was a little slow at Denny’s the other night (slower than usual) and I was getting bored. Had my camera with me, so I started shooting the lights and their reflectons. Just a coincidence that the lights in this shot are blue, red and green. The shades are all the same; the colors come from the bulbs.

Anyway, I got to kill a few minutes while waiting for my sandwich.

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.

Great shot! Who knew you can find such beauty at a Dennys ;-).

  • Thanks nfsync. I try to find something at least interesting, if not beautiful wherever I go. And also have a camera handy. Ya just never know. ;>)

Love the colors if the background was darker it would be perfect

  • Thanks Alan. That was my thought too. I tried darkening up the background a little more before I posted it, but I lost some of the detail in the lights and I wanted to keep that. I don’t know how to use the software (PaintShop Pro, a gift from my son) very well yet. I haven’t figured out the layers thing yet, so what I do affects the whole shot.
