Shot at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, I’m not sure if this anchor was used on the Jeremiah O’Brien (one of the last surviving Liberty ships from WWII), but it is right next to it.

Note the little stainless steel chain in the background used to secure the anchor to its concrete pedestal. Tell ya what, if somebody can move that anchor and chain, that little sucker ain’t gonna stop ’em.

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.

    Very nice work Bob

  • Thanks Sonya. I think I might have a bit too much red though.

No, I actually liked the stark contrast between the back ground and the anchor..
It gives it a certain strength and solidity… Leave the red.. Cheers Sonya
